Workshop Description:

You’ve probably heard about some of the amazing things that ChatGPT can do. It’s one of several new artificial intelligence “chatbots” that have begun to transform business, healthcare, education, and many other fields in the past year. In this workshop you will explore how ChatGPT, Bard, and other chatbots can be used in the adult education classroom. In addition, you will learn how to take advantage of the artificial intelligence features in educational tools like Quizizz and Padlet.

Workshop Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

  • Identify ways that chatbots like ChatGPT and Bard can be used in the adult education classroom.

  • Create activities using the artificial intelligence features in educational tools like Quizziz and Padlet.

  • Save time and effort by making use of powerful AI capabilities.

Presenter:

Andrew Shapira has been working with adult English learners for 14 years. He has presented workshops on Google apps and other online tools (Nearpod, Quizizz, Padlet, Edpuzzle, etc.) at First Literacy, NETWORK, SABES, and elsewhere. He is the coordinator of the English Language Learning Program at the Newton Free Library and a teacher at Framingham Adult ESL Plus.
