Workshop Description
After teaching online for nearly a year, perhaps you're looking to expand your repertoire of tech tools and create more engaing lessons for your students. In this workshop -- a follow-up to January's sessions on Google Forms, Quizizz and Padlet -- we will explore Nearpod and Pear Deck, two innovative tools that enable you to tintergrate instruction and assessment. Learn how to combine slides, videos, readings, and other types of content with polls, open-ended questions, drawing activities, and more. You will have the opportunity to share ideas with other participants and receive feedback on lessons you create.

    Participants will
    Create lessons and stand-alone activities using Nearpod and Pear Deck;
    Make PowerPoint and Google Slides presentations interactive;
    Analyze assessment data
    by accessing reports generated by these tools.

    Participants are expected to commit to both sessions.

    Andrew Shapira has been an adult ESOL teacher for 11 years. He has led many workshops on educational technology tools, including "Doing More with Google" and "Doing More with YouTube" at First Literacy.

    This workshop is free to staff of all Massachusetts non-profit ABE and ESOL Programs.
