Presenter:
Adam Cutler was born in Boston. When he was two years old, his family relocated to South America and some years later to Europe. He had the privilege of growing up bilingual and bicultural and was exposed to many different cultures from an early age. After graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in Latin American Geography, he spent the next decade traveling the world as an English language teacher, always with an eye toward serving those most in need. Along the way, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine and earned Master's degrees in Anthropology from Macquarie University in Australia and International Education from Boston University. For the last 15 years, Adam has worked at various community-based organizations and colleges around Greater Boston with the goal of educating and promoting social justice, especially for immigrants and non-traditional students. During this time, Adam has had several full-time roles in administration; however, he has always maintained at least one ESOL class in the evenings in order to stay connected with students. He is passionate about connecting diverse populations by bringing the right people to the table through partnership and innovation. Outside of his professional life, you are likely to find Adam hiking on the trails during all seasons with his wife and two energetic young children.
This workshop is free to staff of all Massachusetts non-profit ABE and ESOL Programs.
