9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

District Hall
75 Northern Avenue, Boston

This event is FREE to staff of all Massachusetts non-profit ABE and ESOL programs.

First Literacy Lab grants support adult educators who want to test creative new ways to educate the students in their classrooms. They encourage the development, trial, and implementation of new ABE and ESOL resources and practices that have a positive impact on students, programs, and the field of adult education.

Join us to learn about the innovative approaches the 2019 First Literacy Lab grant recipients developed and tested to educate adult learners and strengthen their programs. Topics include:
-  Volunteer in English -- Service Learning for ESOL Students
-  Science Encounters -- Curriculum for HSE Students
-  Creating a Civic Leadership Academy for ESOL Students
-  Family Literacy Using Chilren's Literature and Storytelling
-  Program-wide reading, poetry, and drama projects, and many more.
