First Literacy's Spotlight on Innovation in Adult Basic Education Featuring our 2025-2026 Grant Recipients

Pastries and coffee will be served at 9:30 am followed by the event at 10:00 am.

Johan Uvin, Executive Director of the UMass Donahue Institute and former President of the Institute for Educational Leadership, will keynote the event.

You'll also hear from each of our 2025-2026 grant recipients as they share all of the learnings, surprises, and outcomes from their programs. Programs include:

• Blue Hills Adult Education, Dedham - Digital Literacy for the Future
• BCNC, Quincy - AI-Powered English: A Mini Course for ESOL Learners
• Community Action, Inc., Haverhill - Jump Start ESOL
• The Friends of the Community Learning Center, Cambridge - Students Are Leaders
• The House of the Seven Gables, Salem - Workplace Language and Skills for Newcomers
• JVS, Hyde Park - Summer Family Literacy
• Osterville Village Library, Osterville - Book Tasting

GETTING TO THE EVENT:

Bunker Hill Community College is easily accessible by MBTA or driving. 

MBTA
Take the Orange line to the "Community College" stop. Walk across the pathway to the college, entering through the Main Entrance. Lecture Hall C202 will be down the hallway to the right.

Driving / Parking
Guests will be allowed to park for free in Lot 5 and street parking on the perimeter road around the college. Parking is also available on the street or in lots 1 and 2 for a fee. Please see the parking map here for further information. Please follow signs for the event once you enter the school.
