Growth Mindset: Building Resilience in the Adult Education Classroom

Friday, October 23, 2026
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (online via Zoom)

In this interactive workshop, we will learn why and how to apply a growth mindset when one leaves their comfort zone and enters the “learning/stretch zone”. This multi-purpose workshop will help prepare your students as they face a challenge (whether that’s speaking up at the grocery store or using a newly learned idiom), and you could apply these techniques in your personal life, too! You’ll leave with material to teach and activities to do with your adult learners, plus a heavily-researched takeaway tool that will increase student and personal motivation!

Workshop Learning Objectives:

  • Distinguish between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset

  • Build awareness of individual comfort zones and when to apply a growth mindset

  • Develop & practice language to encourage a growth mindset and to praise appropriately

  • Engage in new, interactive activities for your classroom

  • Build personal and learners’ goals into an actionable plan

Her 15+ years of diverse educator experience, ranging from training local teachers in Cambodia to facilitating blind trust walks for teambuilding programs, gives Andrea a unique perspective in supporting the “whole student” throughout their learning journey.
