Friday, March 20, 2026
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (online via Zoom)
Help your adult ESOL students use free AI tools like ChatGPT for personalized, interactive, and on‑demand language practice. These practical techniques support differentiation in the classroom and empower students to practice independently beyond it. Real examples, clear prompt templates, and teacher-tested strategies.
Workshop Learning Objectives:
-
Learn how to use AI to help your students acquire language outside of the classroom
-
Integrate AI into your teaching practice with concrete examples and strategies
Presenter:
Linda Zhou is an ESOL instructor who has taught more than 400 adult learners across all proficiency levels over the past decade. She currently co-leads a First Literacy-funded pilot course at BCNC that integrates AI into language instruction. Linda brings a student-centered, practical mindset to digital tools, helping adult learners build confidence and take ownership of their English in preparation for the demands of today's and tomorrow's classrooms and workplaces.
This workshop is free to staff of all Massachusetts non-profit ABE and ESOL Programs.
