Students entering the college system will be expected to know how to complete research papers. This workshop will explore research writing and how to best prepare students for that. By the end of this training, participants will be able to instruct their students through the prewriting, research through the public library databases, topic refinement, essay construction, and revision.

Workshop Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about autonomy, motivation, and how the two affect learners

  • Acquire strategies to help empower students to continue progressing toward their goals

Presenter:

Liz Corbett teaches writing to experienced multilingual students. She currently works in public schools, and has also enjoyed working with English language programs in Boston, and the community college system. She always accepts good book recommendations.

This workshop is free to staff of all Massachusetts non-profit ABE and ESOL Programs.
