First Literacy's Spotlight on Innovation in Adult Basic Education Featuring our 2024-2025 Grant Recipients

Pastries and coffee will be served at 9:30 am followed by the event at 10:00 am.
Dr. Vitalis Osuji, MD, MPH, a former First Literacy scholar and current General Surgery Resident Physician, UMass Chan Medical School – Baystate will keynote the ceremony.
You'll also hear from each of our 2024-2025 grant recipients as they share all of the learnings, surprises, and outcomes from their programs. Programs include:
- ABCD, Roslindale - ESOL Curriculum (replication grant)
- Casserly House, Roslindale - ESOL Curriculum and Consultant
- Charlestown Adult Education, Charlestown - Juvenile (16+) Justice Diversion Program
- Criminal Justice Organization of Hampden County, Ludlow - Mother/Child Reading Program for Incarcerated Women
- The Friends of the Community Learning Center, Cambridge - Students Are Leaders
- The Literacy Project, Northhampton - Participatory Action Research Project Focused on ABE Recruitment, Enrollment, and Persistence
- Mujeres Unidas Avanzando, Dorchester - ¡Sí, Se Puede! (Yes, You Can!) Passing That Last HiSET Exam

GETTING TO THE EVENT:
Bunker Hill Community College is easily accessible by MBTA or driving.
MBTA
Take the Orange line to the "Community College" stop. Walk across the pathway to the college, entering through the Main Entrance. Lecture Hall C202 will be down the hallway to the right.
Driving / Parking
Guests will be allowed to park in the Faculty/Staff (F/S) parking areas for free. Please do not park in the Visitor spaces. Parking is also available on the street or in lots 1 and 2 for a fee. Please see the parking map here for further information. Please follow signs for the event once you enter the school.
